How to optimize the air filtration system

As the air conditioning system design or maintenance personnel, not only need to understand the performance of air filter, correct selection and configuration of air filter, but also need to pay attention to the following matters in the design, so as to fundamentally reduce the procurement and operation costs.


1. The same manufacturer shall be selected for the air filtration system as far as possible. The specification of air filter shall be unified as far as possible, and the standard specification shall be adopted. The filter matching of different levels of the same manufacturer is better. Even if there is a problem, it is easy to find the supplier to help solve it. Moreover, the adoption of standard specifications can shorten the procurement cycle, improve interchangeability and reduce spare parts in stock.


2. There should be enough space for maintenance and replacement between each filter section in the air conditioning unit. Some manufacturers stack the insect proof net, primary efficiency and medium efficiency filters together to shorten the length of the air conditioning box and reduce the cost, which will cause inconvenience in future maintenance. Because the maintenance frequency and replacement cycle of primary and intermediate efficiency filters are different, when each time the primary efficiency filter is disassembled, it will pollute the medium efficiency filter, reduce the on-line life of the medium efficiency filter, and easily damage the seal and pollute the back filter. It is suggested to install an insect proof nylon net, which is easy to clean and does not need to be dried. Depending on the degree of pollution, clean the primary filter once or twice a week to keep the insect proof net and primary filter clean, which can greatly reduce the resistance of the air conditioning system and reduce the operation cost.


3. Coarse fiber filter media is often used in primary filter. Due to the large gap between the fibers, excessive resistance may make the dust on the filter pass through the filter. At this time, the resistance is no longer increased, but the filtration efficiency is reduced to zero. The final resistance value of the filter below G4 should be strictly limited. When the final resistance is reached, the filter screen should be replaced or cleaned in time to avoid dust accumulation from polluting the secondary filter through the primary filter.


4. The bag filter is installed in a vertical manner. The vertical nature of the bag filter can reduce its working resistance. The inner frame is better, and it should not be placed behind the fan section to avoid blowing.


5. Each filter is designed with differential pressure gauge and electronic differential pressure alarm. The differential pressure gauge adopts the pointer type (the liquid in the liquid level differential pressure gauge is easy to volatilize, resulting in display error). Through the daily resistance record, the time of filter replacement can be predicted, and the replacement can be arranged in time to avoid affecting the normal production.


6. The cost of high-efficiency filter is high, and it is also the key to ensure the cleanliness. In order to ensure its service life, sub high efficiency must be set in front of it for protection. High efficiency filter generally uses glass fiber filter material, which is very thin and easy to be damaged, so be careful in installation. In order to avoid damage to the filter screen during installation or maintenance, it is better to use the high-efficiency filter with clapboard inside and protective net on both sides.


7. Air filter uses air volume selection. The filter has different resistance under different air volume. Generally, the filter should be 10% lower than the rated air volume.


8. The filter and its frame should be fixed firmly and reliably to prevent wind resistance. The material is generally made of hot-dip galvanized steel plate or stainless steel sheet metal to avoid moisture or heat rust.


9. It is necessary to add water washing section in the air conditioning unit for the area with more wind and sand. The water washing section is mostly designed between the insect proof net section and the primary effect section, and the spray type or water shower type is generally adopted.
