Types of Primary Filter
Pleat Primary Filter
These kinds of air filters are very cheap, but they did a good job in purifying the dust air. They have the small resistance and with the large air flow. They often apply to air conditioning system for primary filtration.
V-form Extended Surface Panel Filter
The filter media structure of the pleated air filter is a V-shape pleat, which increases the contact area with air and therefore improves the dust holding capacity.
Pocket Primary Filter

Primary Filter: Replacement Steps
Drain Water and Fuel
Locate the fuel filter compartment, which is at the back. Disconnect the water-in-fuel sensor plug at the bottom of the water bowl. Attach a drain hose and open the valve to drain the water and fuel into a suitable container. Once the fluid is fully drained, remove the drain hose and close the valve.
Remove Old Filter
Separate the water bowl from the fuel filter by rotating it counterclockwise. Then, turn the filter counterclockwise about three-quarters of a turn to remove it. Clean the mounting base and the housing with a lint-free cloth to make sure the new filter will seal well.
Install New Filter
Apply a thin layer of clean fuel to the seal of the new filter. Do not prefill it with fuel. Install the new filter and housing onto the mounting base by rotating it clockwise until you hear a click, which indicates it is fully seated. Reattach the water bowl by rotating it clockwise, and reconnect the water-in-fuel sensor plug.
Prime the Fuel System
Refer to the instruction manual on how to prime the fuel system so that fuel can be put into the new filter. This step prepares the filter for operation.

Check Used Filter
It' s good practice to inspect the used filter for debris. You can cut into the filter and follow the instructions for this process.
